Skiing has always had a special allure for everyone’s winter pastimes, but night skiing is much more remarkable! When the lit-up scenery shines through as you shred the gnar down the icy slope, the whole experience is elevated to a new level.

Night skiing is popular at Cypress Mountain, which is one of Canada’s largest ski resorts. Skiing after sunset may seem strange to some, but it will be a completely new experience if you know how to do it properly!

A one-kilometre self-guided snowshoe trip to the historic Hollyburn Lodge through the gorgeous Old Growth Forest is safe and easy. LED lights are strung sustainably through the woodland boughs of ancient Cedar, Fir, and Hemlock trees to illuminate the trail. Guests can snowshoe back to the base area along a return trail with feature lighting after enjoying their visit to the Lodge and possibly one of our favourite menu dishes or drinks.

Everything changes at night because you’re gliding down the slopes under the stars in a much less crowded environment. Are you ready to climb to the top of the hill and gaze down at the distant pine tree lights?
